SYNCHRONIZATION ISSUES

Aug 9, 2023 - Just noticed that items created/modified in Simplenote are coming down to CintaNotes. But not vice-versa.

Been having synch. issues with Simplenote for the past 2 weeks. Attached is a log file.

1. I have tried to synch. using multiple accounts and CintaNotes goes thru the same routine but gives message "Synchronization not complete, please try later" it gives messages regardless of which account I use even if the account is empty and has no notes

Downloading new notes 2 of 2
Uploading updates 7 of 116
Uploading new notes 74 of 269
Moving remote notes to recycle bin 97 of 97

2. I have tried doing this from a different PC. Same result.

3. I deleted the settings file in the same directory as the executable. Same result.

Cannot seem to upload the log file as I keep getting the message "Invalid file extension: log.15.txt"

I have the same problem, synchronization in one direction from CintaNotes to Simplenote does not work. It stopped working sometime between 7/13/2023 (synced) and 7/26/2023 (not synced)

Same here. I lately only download from Simplenote to CN, so I hadn't noticed. I'm also not able to upload from CN to Simplenote - this used to work. A few times, I got an error saying synchronization didn't complete, but it didn't upload even when it completed ok.

I also have a note in Simplenote that downloads ok, but also gets a tag "4" added to it. I think this is also recent. I don't have any rules set that would add this tag.

Hi,
Same here. I think the sync error may be due to attached files that are encrypted, in my case some .rar password protected archives. A bit like gmail that doesn't let you attach encrypted archives.
I was able to see an explicit error message regarding such an archive but when I removed and added again the encrypted archive as an attached file, I no longer get an explicit message, just something that says sync didn't complete.

PS : actually attachments are stored on CintaNotes servers, so the issue may come from them ?

NB : the attachments being the issue is just a hint, no certainty whatsoever. Hint coming from the fact an attachement was mentioned in a tooltip when hovering the mouse on the error message.

Hi,
It seems sync is down again, as well as simplenote : when I login to simplenote.com, all my notes seem outdated from several months and see a warning while hovering on the server connection icon saying "Simplenote hasn't communicated with the server in a while, changes may not be synchronized with the server until the connection resumes". Anyone else see that ?

I was just able to access Simplenote on Android, sync a change to my laptop, and sync changes in both directions between Simplenote and CintaNotes.

On my side, it gets stranger : when I connect using a browser to www.simplenote.com and login using the same credentials as within CintaNotes, I am greeted with an empty space, I mean not a single note.
On another browser though, Opera, there was a set of notes displayed after I entered simplenote.com (can(t remember if I had to log in) but when I logged out and relogged in, they were gone too, as if SimpleNote was having a major issue...

On my iPhone, where Simplenote App is installed, my notes are still there but I supposed this is a local copy.

If I may ask, could you try the following, connect with a browser to http://www.simplenote.com, logout if you are already connected and connect again and see if your notes are there. Thanks !

Hi Merl1 - I logged out of Simplenote, cleared the browser cache and logged back in. All my notes were there including a change to one I made 15 mins ago. The change synced to CintaNotes ok as well. I'm on a Win 10 laptop using Firefox, logging in from Chicago.

Also, I'm logging in using my email, not via WordPress.

I did have an issue with two missing notes about 7 years ago (I checked my mails to SimpleNote support). I was able to find them by clicking on the Trash tag. You might try that. Otherwise, try contacting support - they were very helpful at the time.

Finally, the server connection status in SN is showing "Simplenote is communicating with the server" for me. If yours is having problems connecting, that would be the first thing to work out.

Thanks a lot. The trash appears to be empty also when I log in on the Web.
