I think a simple bookmarking system should be implemented, on top of the tagging system. Much how in Firefox or Google Chrome browsers there is a "star" to bookmark a page, I think CintaNotes should have some sort of marking system to mark favorite notes.
For example, there could be a star symbol on the left corner of a note, and when you mark several, you could enable an option "Show Marked Notes." I think this would be a worthy addition to the tagging system, since it would be a "favorite" tag itself, but more visually prominent to indicate its importance.
Thanks for the great software!

Re: [Managing] Mark notes
I wonder if giving tags a configurable icon would help achieve this?

Maybe just use an 'Important' tag ? or is that a little simple?

Yes, an ‘important’ tag would be OK, but it would be better with Tag Grouping (Sidebar Tag Order) #168, so that the tag could have a prominent/important position. Nod

Re: [Managing] Mark notes
I'm not sure I see the benefit in this. As the OP says, this is like a "favorite" tag, but "more visually prominent".
I don't understand the need for visual prominence. In fact it would worry me -- it's difficult to imagine an implementation that would not break the clean, uncluttered CN design.
If you create a "favorite" tag, or an "important" tag, surely that does the job?

My take: marking -- instead of any kind of tagging -- would enable unequivocal operations upon the marked note set: tagging, changing, exporting, and especially deleting...

In my opinion, the mark button should be pretty inconspicuous, until you mark it. And then it would just be a simple check or star. This way, it'd allow for a quick mouse-tag, and you'd be able to sort through all of your favorite notes far easier.

I'm using ### as an additional tag for important items. It appears top of the list in the tag sidebar. Nod
