Hi Alex,
i use cross note links a lot (internal links). To create a link i press Alt+Shift+C and paste that to anothers note body. Then i come back to select some more text and paste that as a short reference to the other note. I am aware of the preview feature, but the use case is different to me. Being able to first select some text and then press Alt+Shift+C would be helpful. When pasting to the other note, the selected text should follow the notes link, separated by CR/LF.

Re: Create a notes link including selected text
Thomas,
Thanks for the suggestion - sounds like a good idea that won't be too diffucult to implement.
One thing that is not quite clear to me is that bit about CR/LF - could you please elaborate? Thanks!

Example for text to paste
<note-title of linked note><CRLF>
<selected text of linked note>
The CRLF means, that the selected text starts in a new line, after the notes title.

Re: Create a notes link including selected text
This seems a bit arbitrary to me. Maybe sometimes you wouldn't want to include the title? Or you'd like to place this link inline into other paragraph and embedded CRLF will be a pain?

Re: Create a notes link including selected text
When copying a link (Alt+Shift+C) and no text is selected there will be no change. Only in case you select some text in the note body, that text will be pasted after the note link in the destination note's body.

Re: Create a notes link including selected text
Maybe it would be better to simply use the selected text INSTEAD of target note's title as the link caption?

No. I am asking for the combination. But never mind. I can handle it manually. It was meant as a convenience to combine two tasks into one. Thanks anyway.

Are you sure that it's ok as is? Probably we could work something out using cintanotes.settings, as usual in such cases

Hi Alex,
the idea is similar to Chrome's AutoCopy extension that inspired me. Have a look at its features. I use it a lot to copy headlines of web pages together with the site's link.

Do you mean the "Include an informational comment" option that AutoCopy has?

Probably we could add a similar setting to the settings file. Could you please remind me about this after 3.10 final is released?
